VEIN MOUNTAIN RECREATIONAL MINERS CLUB

Our spotlight shines on our very first lady club member. Ginny joined the club in October 2003. Her husband, Robert, is not into prospecting. We are very pleased to have Ginny with us - we call her our "rock-lady". At each dig she likes to look through the rocks going up the gravel belt in hopes to find gemstones or something of value, that someone else may have missed. You will notice her right away because she is always smiling. Ginny would love to go to Brackett Town sometime, but is afraid to go alone due to snakes. So, if you are going over, maybe you might like to invite Ginny to go with you or follow you. She is a little bashful to ask anyone. Ginny is also a retired school teacher and a very interesting lady to talk to, so get to know her, you will love her. We are very honored to have Ginny in our club. Get to know her, and ladies let her know how much fun we have too. WELCOME GINNY!!

We have a "dig" that is separate from the our club digs and that is the one we have for the children (boys AND girls). For $5.00 per child, they too can have a "club dig" and at the end of the dig they too get a split of the gold found in the concentrates from their highbanking efforts. Age Group 16 and under. Children 6 and under MUST BE accompanied by an adult. If your children are interested in being a part of this "outing", (just for lads), then check in at the Diner window on the days of our VMRC digs and advise Lorie, so their name can be added to the list.

Doug has been working hard on the clubhouse for the last several months; three sides, fireplace and recording studio are finished. Now we need to come up with some money-making ideas so the work can continue. Susan Beyer , who was kind enough to show several ladies how to make beaded jewelry, suggested that each lady, or man, could make something ( of ANY craft - not just jewelry ) and donate it to our club auction to help finance the building construction OR , if you prefer, a cash donation would be most graciously accepted. We are sure each club member is anxious to see the clubhouse completed. The paneling is just beautiful. If you have not been able to visit recently, or have never seen it, you will be amazed about how beautiful and nice it will be for any VMRC gathering. Plus, Doug may schedule more work days in the near future - so watch for any announcements.
